The architect Edifis has made a long journey from Egypt to ask his friend the druid Getafix for help. The architect Edifis has made a long journey from Egypt to ask his friend the druid Getafix for help. The contrast between the sunny shores of the Nile and Brittany in Armorica is all the more striking as the Gaulish village is at the height of winter, to the point where it is – unprecedently – covered in snow! René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo thereby remind us of the context the readers of the time were living in, who were discovering this new adventure in December 1963. But very soon it will be time to change scenery and go on an exotic adventure.

In two short lines of dialogue, René Goscinny bursts forth with his creative wordplay, never gratuitous, always witty. A whole poem.
